Book a Family Business Consultation

Most engagements begin with a brief, no-obligation discovery call or inquiry — by phone, email, WhatsApp, or the form above — to share a little about your situation. There is no obligation attached to reaching out, and no assumption that this first contact has to lead anywhere in particular. Many people who reach out are simply trying to understand their options before committing to anything.

What Happens After You Reach Out

Ria typically responds within one to three business days to schedule your family business consultation — the initial client conversation, held in person or virtually, whichever suits you best. This consultation usually runs about 60 minutes and focuses on your situation, whether you are planning a succession, resolving a governance gap, or simply trying to work out where to start. From there, she will recommend whether a single advisory session, a structured engagement, or an ongoing retainer relationship is the better fit. If you are not yet sure which service you need, How I Help outlines the two main ways she works with families and founders, and what each typically involves.

Who This Is For

Ria works with family business owners, next-generation leaders, professional advisors, and boards across Trinidad and Tobago, the wider Caribbean, and the diaspora in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. Whether you are based in Trinidad and Tobago or calling in from overseas, a family business consultation can be arranged in person at the Woodbrook office or virtually by video call, whichever is more convenient for your schedule and time zone.

Before You Reach Out

It helps to have a general sense of what prompted you to look for support, whether that is an upcoming transition, a disagreement among family members, or a governance structure that no longer fits the business. You do not need a fully formed plan before your family business consultation. Most families reach out somewhere between the beginning and middle of a decision, or are just unsure where to start – and that is a perfectly reasonable place to begin.

Confidentiality

Family business and succession conversations are often sensitive, and Ria treats every conversation, whether by phone, email, or WhatsApp, as confidential. Nothing shared in an initial family business consultation is passed on to other family members, business partners, or third parties without your permission.

Response Times

Ria aims to reply to every message within one to three business days. If you have not heard back within three business days, please try WhatsApp or call directly.

Office & Virtual Meetings

In-person meetings and a family business consultation can be held at the Woodbrook office at 1 Luis Street, Port of Spain, by appointment. Parking is available on site. If you would prefer Ria to meet you at your own offices, this can be arranged for an additional cost. For clients based outside Trinidad and Tobago, or anyone who simply prefers not to travel, sessions are held over video call using whichever platform works best for you, including Zoom, Google Meet, or WhatsApp video. Documents can be shared securely by email or through a shared drive link ahead of the call, so the conversation itself can focus on the substance of your family business consultation rather than logistics.

Fees

Fees depend on the scope of the engagement, whether that is a single advisory session, a governance review, or an ongoing retainer relationship, and are discussed once Ria understands what your family business consultation is meant to achieve. You will know the fee structure before any paid work begins.
