The LEGACY DNA Diagnostic
Understand the issues.
Decide what comes next.
The LEGACY DNA Diagnostic brings connected family and business questions into one picture, with a consultation, written assessment and priorities for your next decisions.
Consultation included · Written report · Clear priorities
When the questions connect
One concern can
open up several others.
A handover raises ownership questions. A pay disagreement reveals unclear roles. An estate plan brings expectations between siblings into view.
The Diagnostic is designed for situations where considering the wider picture is more useful than addressing each question in isolation.
You can begin with a focused consultation for a specific question. If it reveals broader issues, you can then choose the Diagnostic. You can also start with the Diagnostic, which includes its own consultation.
What the engagement produces
A useful result
in its own right.
The assessment considers eighteen practices across six dimensions. You receive a written starting point for decisions, with the priorities considered together.
The current picture
A written assessment of strengths and areas needing attention across the framework.
The priorities
A clearer view of what to address first and which questions need further work.
The next decisions
A basis for discussing a defined priority, coordination with existing advisors or a wider programme.
What comes afterwards
Consider the findings.
Plan the next stage.
Implementation is a separate engagement. You can consider the findings and proposed next steps before deciding whether to proceed.
Some families want to address one priority. Others are ready for a coordinated transition involving leadership, ownership and governance. The proposed scope and fees are discussed before that work begins.
We also clarify where your existing advisors can contribute.

Before you begin
Clear expectations.
How are the scope and fee agreed?
The Diagnostic is a professional engagement. We discuss the consultation, written report, participation, scope and fee before you decide to proceed.
Does the Diagnostic include a consultation?
Yes. The Diagnostic includes its assessment consultation alongside the written report.
Can I choose the Diagnostic after a focused consultation?
Yes. A focused consultation can be your first step. If you then want a broader assessment, you can choose the Diagnostic. Its scope and fee are agreed before you proceed.
Does it include implementing every recommendation?
No. Documents, facilitated meetings, governance structures and other implementation work are separately scoped unless specifically included in the agreed engagement.
Must I commission a full overhaul afterwards?
No. You decide whether to proceed with further work after considering the findings and the proposed next steps.
Who participates?
Participation and information needed are agreed for your situation before work begins.
Is the free online assessment required?
No. It is an optional reflection tool. You can enquire directly about the Diagnostic.
